Maths by Tia M and Rhianna

On Tuesday we recapped angles with a puzzle and then we did a new topic: bus stop method. This is how you do it.

First you ask yourself what would be a sensible answer. A good estimate to this question would be about 300.
Then you ask yourself how many 6’s in 1? The answer is none so then you put a 0 above the 1. Then you carry the 1 over to the 9.
You then ask yourself how many 6’s in 19? The answer is 3 so you put a 3 above the 9 and carry the remaining 1 over to the 0.
Then you ask yourself how many 6’s in 10? The answer is 1 with 4 left over. You write the one above the 0 and carry the 4 over to the 8.
You then ask yourself how many 6’s in 48? The answer is 8 with none left over. Then you put the 8 on top of the 8. Therefore the answer is 318.

We hope you learnt how to divide!
If you get a remainder, then just put remainder 3 or 4 et cetera.
